ASSOCIATION COMPETITIONS - not running 2018

 To be eligible to enter any of the competitions, all owners must be paid up members of the S & N WPCA .  Entry to these competitions is free.

The pony/cob (A B C D & P/B) gaining the highest number of points throughout the season in ridden show classes (Welsh, M&M, SHP) etc from the Association’s nominated shows (can be found in the Gold Journal) will be awarded the Nina Clayton Trophy.

 Points awarded:     1st  -  5 points   2nd  -  3 points   3rd  -  2 points

                          Championship  -  5 points     Reserve  -  3 points

 Self declaration forms are available from the Secretary  or you can download them  -  entries close at the end of September of the current year.

This competition aims to encourage the ridden and driven welsh pony from all sections of the Welsh stud book, including the part-bred register. Points are gained according to placing in many different spheres at shows and events held throughout the UK. Bonus points will also be awarded to 1st prize winners in two or more disciplines. The competition is run in five sections:

Section A    Section B    Section C    Section D   &   Partbred

Rosettes will be awarded to 6th place. Trophies will be awarded to ponies/cobs accumulating most points in each section, breeders of the highest placed in section A, B & D, (breeders must be paid up members of the Association), stallion with most points and driven pony/cob with most points. The competition runs from October to September. A separate entry form must be used for each animal and returned to the secretary by the due date.

 The overall winner is the pony/cob gaining the highest number of points in the competition and will be awarded the SCOLE SALVER.

 All ponies must be registered in the Welsh stud books, the appendix or part-bred register, registration numbers to be included on the entry form. NAFF stallion license numbers must also be given where applicable. Stallions, mares and geldings four years old and upwards are eligible. Please note that although the Performance competition is open to all ages, riders must be the correct age for specified classes at shows.

This is a self declaration competition, collecting points for 1st – 3rd placings at the Association’s nominated shows for sections  A B C D & Part Bred. At shows where there are no part bred classes, points may be collected from either Pony Breeding or Show Hunter Pony classes, but not both.

Points awarded:     1st  - 5 points   2nd  -  3 points   3rd  -  2 points

                         Championship  -  5 points   Reserve   -   3 points

 If a youngstock Champion goes on to be section Champion only one Championship counts for points.

There are two classes: 9 yrs & under & 10-16 years
